Don’t Let These Wedding Food Mistakes Ruin Your Big Day!

Believe it or not, your D-day is going to be a memorable one for all those who are there to be a part of it. Now, whether it’ll be memorable in a positive manner or a negative one, depends upon all your wedding planning efforts, especially the food that’ll be served at the wedding. Yes! In fact, the wedding menu is one of the major points of attraction for most of the guests.
In order to delight all those who are there to share the joy of the most special day of your life, you need to avoid certain wedding food mistakes. Read on to know what they are:
A boring wedding menu:
Deciding on a wedding menu that’s not at all interesting and features all such food items that can be found at every other wedding is like playing it safe! Though there’s no harm being on a safer side but it can be quite bothersome especially if you plan to get married during the typical wedding season. So, it’s advisable to try out some new and exciting dishes so as to surprize your guests. Try and offer a variety of dishes that are out of the box and capable of stunning all your wedding guests.

Neglecting guests’ preferences:
No doubt your D-day would be the most important day of your life and you would be tempted to do everything just the way you like to but that may not necessarily please your guests. You need to pay special attention to their preferences and dietary restrictions. Make sure that you include a line asking these preferences on the RSVP card so that you can plan the wedding menu accordingly and offer enough variety to all those who’ll be there.

Opting for food items not available in the season:
You may be a fan of a particular dish but it may cost you a little more than it normally does, if it’s a seasonal one. So, it’s more economical to choose fruits and vegetables that will be in season at the time of your wedding. Also, if you opt for something that’s picked out of the season, it may probably be under storage and may not be as tasty as it’s supposed to be. Therefore, it’s advisable to go for the options that are freshly available so that you don’t ruin your D-day!

Offering messy foods:
Weddings are glitzy and extravagant affairs. Everything from decorations to attires to makeup is magnificent. Not only the bride and the groom and their families but also the guests are dressed in their best attires. The last thing they would want to happen is food dribbling down on their clothes and completely ruining them. So, make sure that you do not serve messy foods at your wedding. Avoid adding foods such as dripping sauces, noodles, chocolate fountain etc. to your menu so that all your guests can enjoy the food to its fullest.

Running out of food:
This happens mostly during the cocktail hour due to which some of the guests get a bit too much drunk. That’s why we are always told to plan the menu according to a guest list. It gives you an idea of the amount of food to be ordered for the D-day. Make sure that you’ve hired sufficient members of staff to serve your items so they are served fresh and hot. Also, make sure that you have enough finger foods and appetizers circulating during the cocktail hour.

Avoid these silly mistakes so that all your guests remember your wedding day for a long long time and that too for all the good food that was served (wink)!
